So, here goes... Since the last time I blogged, my very best good friend Ashley had a baby, Colin. Which was the most amazing thing one can ever hope to witness in a lifetime, I was so honored to be a part of it. Ashley may think
I am being cheezy but it was so special. My job during the labor/delivery was to keep the towel on Ash's forehead cool. It was a pretty easy job but during all the stress and confusion, it was nice. Ash pushed hard for an hour or so and the nurses finally called Dr. Dabbs, once the Doc came in, she meant business and the baby was out in about 1 minute (or so it seemed). It was so awesome to see the baby. After the long night, hard work, and exhaustion, everything else just didn't matter once we saw him. Karen, Ash's mom, and I just started crying, I think I was more hysterical then the new grandma. But, it all hit like a ton of bricks. I know I bugged Ash for about 3 solid months about not being able to wait any longer to see the babys face, I just wanted to know what he would look like, as soon as I saw him, I couldn't stop staring. Honestly, the most amazing thing in the world, I know that is cliche, but it is so true.Next, one of my other best good friends, Kelsey moved away. This was pretty hard for me. Her and I have been bff's since the age of about 13. Yesterday I had to change her phone number in my cell phone, this is a simple task, I know, but we got our first cell phones and numbers at the same time. So, this change, was really hard. I already know that I don't do well with change, I try but I am just a creature of habit. So, I need to be a little more flexible with things in life, letting go especially. I know my friend will be missed by all of us, but we are all happy she is doing exactly what she wants. Good luck Kels and way to go!
Next, Tiff's bridal shower is creeping up, which means d-day is coming just as fast. I am really looking forward to the shower this weekend as a time to catch up with my lady friends and their moms. And, to see what cool stuff Tiff scores on! Hehe I can't believe
how fast time is flying, in no time Tiff will be an old married gal! Whoa! So, I made my first furniture purchase over the weekend. I bought a coffee table! It is super cute! Needs some TLC but looks neat. I am going to paint it a red color, right not it is a shade of booger green. But, it has serious potential!!!
Oh, last month I took my first knitting class, who woulda thought? Well, I was trying to train my hands to move in new ways and mostly they weren't having it. But, being the youngest in the class, I knitted the most in 3 hours. But, that isn't saying much because after 3 hours, my some day scarf was about an inch and a half long. WTF? No wonder these thin
gs are so expensive, they take freakin forever! So, I got home and tried to pick it up and start again, well, I think I messed it up pretty good! Maybe next winter I will have the thing finished? So, a couple things I am looking forward to.... My mom and I are going to SF at the end of the month for a mother-daughter bonding trip, I can't wait!!! We are going to thrift shop it up, have some nice meals, and hopefully take some good photos! And, we are staying at a newly renovated hotel, Hotel Frank, it looks so nice!
And, I am moving to my new casa the first week of April. This has been a bit of a slow process but the time is almost here. I can't wait to get out of the 1 bedroom apartment and into my new Fig Garden house! Yay! Once I am moved in, I expect all my friends to come over for a fun bbq, the backyard is HUGE!!!
Yay! Really looking forward to April, May, June..... Happy 2009!
