Reflections of a fun weekend...

Well, the weekend came and went, seems to be happening much more quickly these days. Saturday was Tiffany's first bridal shower (1 of 2). It was hosted by her mom and aunt and it was a really nice party. There was a great turn out and she got a ton of cool gifts!!! It was fun to see my bffs and get to hang out with Nicole & Kelsey now that they are living down south. This picture of Tiff is with the gift I gave her, an apron my grandma made for her. I picked out the fabric and the pattern and my grandma sewed it together. I asked my grandma about a month before the shower if it was something she might be able to do. She hesitantly agreed, these days she doesn't think her hands can quite do so well, she has arthritis really bad. So, I gave her all the stuff with about three weeks to complete it. The next day she called to tell me the apron was ready. I couldn't believe my ears. She finished the thing in one day! Last night I spoke with her, and she is making another one for herself!!! I told my grandma I want one next! : ) So.... Saturday was a really nice day and the shower was beautiful, setting the bar for the big day 5/2/09.

Sunday.... Tom and I decided to take a trip to the foot hills so I could get some good photos of the wild flowers. So, of course, I take the wheel and we are headed out! On the way, I turn onto Sample Road and the scenery is so beautiful. Somewhere along the way I stopped watching the road and started looking at the flowers and beautiful green rolling hills. The car went off the road and scared me half to death. At that point, I knew it was time for Tom to take over! SCARY!
So, we finally made it to our family property, which we call La Casita. After struggling with the lock on the gate, we got inside! And, well, just like my grandma Sue had told me, the Lupine was growing like crazy!!! It was so beautiful just growing up the side of a hill all over. It really was breath taking. So, I hopped out of the car and started snapping photos as Tom drove the car either in front or behind me. What was really cool is that we arrived between a coupdle storms. So, some of my photos are completely sunny and others are really dark with rain clouds! It was so cool!!!I got some pretty cool shots! Enjoy!

After taking a bunch of photos, we drove up to the historical Humphries Station and had breakfast!!! Yummo!!!
